Who Doesn’t Want to be a Slut?

I think I need to start reading more… something other than Chick lit anyway. I’ve been reading more on the Sex Positive Movement, and totally digging that so many women out there are not only speaking up about their sexuality but embracing it. I definitely think more people need to do that, and start steering away from all of the “slut shaming” that so many tend to do.

  1. It’s not nice (first of all)
  2. Women hating on Women, really… like we don’t have enough to worry about, you’re going to condemn me for doing what I want (with my own body)? It’s bad enough that women get it from men, but we have to worry about receiving it from women as well?  Bogus.
  3. Stop it.

Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, obviously, but what does it matter to you what another person does with his/her own life? How is it hurting you? It isn’t, is it.

So yea… go ahead, call me a slut or a cunt, makes no difference. But I’d bet the people who are fighting against this the most are doing some really crazy shit behind closed doors.  (~_^)

This entry was inspired by a couple of things… a long night of reading /r/sexpositive. I recommend that as well, there are some pretty interesting thoughts. But mostly, it’s because I stumbled upon this online article talking about the book What Do Women Want? Just some random comments that I have;

1. It’s Complicated- OF COURSE ITS COMPLICATED… I mean, really, they’ve only just mapped out the internal part of the Clitoris? (yes that deserves a capital C because it’s kind of a big deal) Science is an interesting thing and it’s constantly changing and growing… but why is there still a stigma about the female body?
2. Women are way more visual than they let on—or even realize. – Holy shit, I totally participated in this study!! Fun stuff. That was an interesting 4-5 hours of my life, let me tell you!
3. Monogamy turns women off.- There’s always an exception to the rule and I’ll be one of them. Monogamy is something that I strive for and actually look forward to, considering I’ve pretty much been in some relationship since I was 15 years old. I guess I’ll come back to this when I’m in a relationship that lasts longer than a year…
4. Women want to be sexually dominated, perhaps even violently—oh, calm down—in their fantasies. – Fantasies are a hell of a thing…
5. A woman’s desire is stoked by sex with strangers, not a devoted soul mate.- Please see my comments about #3. Although new and different things CAN be exciting, depending on the circumstances I dread “new” encounters
6. “Unexcited? There may be a pill for that.”- Men have viagra and the like, why can’t women have something similar? Considering some side effects of some medications can be a lowered sex drive. Those were some of the most unhappy moments of my life.
7. Clitoris-Brusher Wanted- Cool… so you can have a fluffer and a brusher?! Where do I sign up, for both?
